There is a huge problem across all industries with burnout. And people keep talking about work-life balance and people keep talking about their own burnout. And the main problem with burnout is that when you’re burned out, you don’t even know that you’re burned out. You’re so burned out, you’re just trying to make it through the day.
Most of your team is burned out. You, in high percentages, are probably burned out to one extent or another. Modern life is hard. There’s only 24 hours a day. How do we do this? How do we lead change and lead effectively and be good family members and remember to thank our spouses and remember to thank our team and do all these things with just 24 hours a day?
The only key to work-life balance, the only key to prevent your burnout and other people’s burnout is the zero to ten rule: focusing on what matters the most, because the illusion that you can do it all is an illusion. You can’t do it all. So the question is, what are you doing with your time? Are you using it for what matters the most?
