Nigel: So I placed all the gym clothes on the bed and everything. I was like, you know, you ate so much food on this trip. You had to do it. You had to do it.
The alarm set went off at five. I was like, now I can snooze again. I put the alarm to snooze till about six. I was like, I still have a few more minutes, man. I can get up. Then I was like, you know what? I’ll do it tomorrow.
But I’m saying all of this to say that that is my biggest struggle. I’m not a morning person. So my pledge is to try and get up every day. And if it’s just to go for a little walk, just to clear and just get that energy going for the start of the day, that’s my pledge at least for the next 30 days.
Michelle: And when are you starting? Tomorrow morning?
Nigel: Tomorrow morning.
Michelle: And on a scale of 0 to 10, how much does it matter to you?
Nigel: It is a 10, but I put it as a nine.
Michelle: Nine is solid. Give him a big round of applause. Thank you, Nigel.
And I love what Nigel described, because it happens to all of us. We want to. We do everything. But then the brain is there. And it’s basically telling us, can we just? Can we not do that? You know?
And so, whatever it is that you’re thinking of doing right now that is in your mind and you say, I gotta talk more to my team. I gotta have more one-on-one. I gotta put my phone away when they talk to me. Little things in human interaction go a long way. Whatever it is, set it as your first goal. Take action right away while you’re still excited about it.
