So our brain, your brain, takes about 20% of your overall body energy just to get by. Just to do what you know how to do already.
So think about your morning today. You got up in the morning, you had a wonderful breakfast, or you didn’t eat breakfast, you worked out, you didn’t work out. You had coffee, you had tea, same things that you do every day. There’s nothing new here. That costs the brain 20% of your overall body energy just to do what you know how to do already.
Every time you ask your brain or someone else’s brain to do something different, new innovation, new ways of doing things, your brain says, are you kidding me? Life is so hard. Anyway, I don’t want to do that.
So today and every day of your life, your brain comes to you with a deal. And your brain says, listen, you want to be successful. You want to do all these great things. Good for you, says the brain. I want to conserve energy. I don’t want to go above the 20%. So here’s the deal, says the brain.
I’m gonna keep you super stuck doing the same things over and over again without even realizing. You’re gonna be super stuck and miserable, but I’ll conserve energy. Are you signing the deal?
94% of the people in the world don’t read the fine print. They sign the deal. Only 6% cut a different deal with their brain, and we are here going to cut a different deal with your brain.
